Introduction - Part 2
Here is the second half of the Introduction to “New Normal Team Leadership Competencies.”
This is a time where there is a need for unparalleled creativity and vision. We have had the way we live, work, and conduct business disrupted. There is a sense of loss and pain. People are actually grieving. Vision is crucial during a crisis like we are in and leaders need to be vision-casters. There is a proverb which states, “Without vision, the people perish.” Where we all find ourselves when this pandemic comes to an end will be very different than what it was prior to the pandemic. People will be looking to their leaders, to rally them around vision.
The following are Core Competencies/Skills, which a Leadership Team will need to be proficient in to lead forward. A new normal, so to speak, in leadership effectiveness. I have used Birkman Score patterns and ranges to speak to the strengths and styles which will best meet the Core Competencies/Skills needed in the new normal. This is certainly not an exhaustive list; other patterns could also be used.
If you missed the first part, you can read it here. Next week we will dive into the first competency.
